Research

LRI (in|situ|) (September 2007 - ...)

I'am now an Assistant Professor at Université Paris-Sud 11 (IUT d'Orsay). I'm a member of the LRI, in the in|situ| research group (more details soon).

LRI (in|situ|) (February 2007 - August 2007)

My last postdoc position was at the LRI, in the AVIZ project. I've worked with Jean-Daniel Fekete on interactive information visualization (more details soon).

ENST (January 2006 - January 2007)

Before, I was a Post-doctoral fellow at the ENST, in the I3 group of the Computer Science and Networks (InfRes) Department. I've worked with Eric Lecolinet on new visualization/interaction techniques for connected mobile devices (PDA, SmartPhones). In particular, we focus on :

• Displaying a large set of dynamic organized data (hierarchic list or tree) on a reduced screen space;
• Manipulation and interaction with these data in a particular input context: with fingers, especially the thumb.

Ecole des Mines de Nantes/ATER University of Nantes (2000-2005)

I successfully defended my Ph.D. Thesis in Computer Science at the École des Mines of Nantes (University of Nantes) on July 12th 2005. My research interests lie within the area of Human-Computer Interaction (Novel interaction techniques and input devices, Software models and toolkits, User-centered design).
This research work, conducted at the CMI team (R.I.P.) of the Computer Science Dpt. of the École des Mines de Nantes and under Professor Gérard Hégron and Assistant Professor Cédric Dumas' supervision, has addressed diverse topics:

• Interactive computer tools for creative design, especially during early stages of architectural design.
• Real-time freehand drawing interpretation, and associated interaction techniques for 3D modeling, within the GINA project (see Svalabard, a virtual drawing table for 3D modeling).
• Software models for use and prototype alternative interaction techniques (see the MaggLite Post-WIMP toolkit and the underlying Mixed-Graphs model).
